Peter Smolenski first worked at Citibank FSB Real Estate Group and at LaSalle Bank while attending college to get his degree. He then founded a company, an S Corp, called RockWater Inc. The purpose of RockWater Inc. was to make possible Peter Smolenski’s personal real estate investments through financing and direct investments. Smolenski later founded the Chicago office, and began the U.S. Operations of, the Shelbourne Development Group. This is a global real estate investment firm with significant holdings in Europe and especially in Ireland.

Now, Peter Smolenski is the co-founded of Logan Ventures. He co-founded the company along with his partner, Stanley Pillman, in the fourth quarter of 2010. This company is a labor of love for Peter Smolenski, as well as a fifty-million dollar real estate fund which invests heavily in distressed properties in the United States. Logan Ventures invests in distressed properties whose price tags are ten million dollars or lower, so that there is plenty of room for turnover. Logan Ventures is based mostly in and around the Chicago metropolitan area, but the company is capable of investing in properties all over the United States.
